| DANNY JONES (vocals/guitar) |
Danny Alan David Jones was born on the 12th of March, 1986. He is originally from Bolton, England - but now is residing somewhere in London, England. Danny became involved with McFLY at age 17. In the band, Danny is one of the main vocalist and guitarist. He also contributes in composing majority of the songs. Walk in the Sun, Not Alone and Don't Know Why are some of the songs Danny has written entirely by himself. Before Danny was in McFLY, he played in a band called "Y2K," around the age of 14. The band composed of himself, his sister, and one other of Danny's friends. Though the band was small and young, they entered young talent competitions and came out successful in some. Despite anything, eventually the band came to an end. Though the band didn't go on, Danny did. He continued practicing the guitar and composing songs. Before and after school, Danny would play "mini shows" in near by pubs; earning him some extra cash, and some extra experience. He later on entered an open-mic singing competition. Danny covered a song by Oasis and won. He also entered a song-writing competition and also took the win. Bruce Springsteen, The Who and The E-Street band are few of Danny's musical influences. Danny was in college when he left to London for a band audition. Originally, his audition plans was for an upcoming band called Busted. But, in the end, Danny ended up at a V audition. He didn't purposely go to the V audition, it was completely accidental. When Danny showed up for his audition is was pretty obvious that something was wrong; no one had an instrument. V is a pure pop boy group, something similar to N'sync or the Backstreet Boys. So, Danny was most defiantly out of place, but he auditioned anyway. The boy didn't get picked, but his talent wasn't ignored. It seemed like fate brought Danny to this audition because future band mate, Tom Fletcher, was filming the auditions. After his audition, Danny was confronted by Tom and was giving an invitation to write along side with himself and James Bourne (of Busted) for Busted's up-coming album. After joining, Tom and Danny went off with James Bourne and began writing. Later, Tom and Danny ended up contemplating writing their own material for an album. They decided to begin a musical route on their own and started work on Room on the Third Floor. Eventually, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd came along. And a contract with Island Records was signed. Danny's talent seems to grow more and more legendary with each year. Personal Facts About Danny: |
