Say What?

from: md @ 08 Feb 2009 0 comments
I found this article that metioned McFLY in a odd way, check it:
"Alright, so here's the deal. Delaney's has quite a few beers on tap. If you like your Killians, your Guinness, and your Bass, this is your spot on a Wednesday night. These range from two to three bucks a pint - definitely within your price range. Also, Delaney's management is so kind as to often hook us up with the wonderful stylings of some local music - I recommend Carol Brown, Josh Cale, and McFly (don't stand too close to the stage with McFly though; the lead's gotta bit of an ego, I'm afraid, so he likes to spit and lean awfully close to the front row... ick)."

Who Likes Harry?

from: md @ 31 Jan 2009 0 comments
Zoe Salmon, a "Dancing on Ice" star.

She says in an interview,
Although her single status is debatable Zoe admits to being charmed by Ewan McGregor and Harry from McFly.

"And I always thought the bands who came in were really fanciable. Harry, the drummer from McFly, he’s cute. I was always like, ‘You’re hot!’"

This is the only bit she mentions Harry in the interview, but if you'd like to check out more go here.

Alan Clarrs Mentions McFLY

from: md @ 28 Jan 2009 0 comments
In his biography, he mentioned McFLY when he performed at the Royal Variety Performance

As it happened, I was sharing a dressing room with McFly. They are lovely boys, but in their skinny-fit jeans and spiky hair they made me feel very old. My hair was beginng to recede around that time in November 2005-I noticed it in the reflection of Cliff Richards veneers. It had started slipping back down my head like a rug on a highly polished floor, but thank-fully with a bit of hair wax I could still fool people into thinking I had a fringe. Just as I was feeling old, watching McFly coolly strum their guitars without a care, their manager came in and told the boys off for eating to many jelly beans.
"If you have too many E numbers, you'll be bouncing off the walls."

Blogger Tom

oh...so i've got a blog rival...

I see that Dougie has awoken from his winter myspace hibernation and decided to try and steal my title of King blogger in the mcfly camp...well we'll just see about that Mr Poynter.

Anyways...me and Poynter have been planning and plotting a lot of kick arse ideas for the future of McFLY. You crazy cats are gonna love it!

We're all back from holidays now, Harry was the last one home and wins hands down for being the most tanned band member over the christmas holiday! It's good having everyone home and we're all ready to get stuck into the year a head...which is getting more busy by the second! But we're super excited about all the international shows we're getting to do this year!...and we won't forget you lovely English folk!

Dougie became the first McFly member to be my passenger when I took him flying a few days ago. Was awesome. Not sure if I told you guys but I got my pilots license just before the tour last year so been flying whenever I get some time off.

Wow...what an incredible blog that was... it has paragraphs and everything...some might say it makes the previous blog look a little bit silly...

McFLY Prizes!

from: md @ 22 Jan 2009 0 comments

McFly has teamed up with the adorable Andrex® Puppy to raise £150,000 this winter for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity very close to McFly’s hearts.

Drummer Harry said: “Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity I really care about because I saw a close friend go through cancer in his teens.”

The band has signed a whole bunch of CDs and photographs to give away to a handful of lucky winners.

Presspack has five goody bags containing bags containing a signed McFly CD, a McFly T-shirt, a McFly signed photograph and a cute Andrex Puppy pyjama case to give away to members.

To be in with a chance of winning one, all you have to do is answer the following question:

What breed of dog is the Andrex Puppy?

a) Labrador Retriever

b) Dalmatian

c) Poodle

Send your entry, along with your name, age, address and Presspack number to the usual address, or e-mail it to wtel_presspack@westerntelegraph.co.uk.

To get your paws on a small limited edition Andrex® Winter Puppy and help raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, look out for Winter packs of Andrex® in stores across the UK or visit www.andrexpuppy.co.uk. You could also win tickets to see McFly on their UK tour and the chance to meet the band backstage, as well as lots of other signed memorabilia. The Winter Pup costs just £6 (including postage and packaging) and all profits will go to Teenage Cancer Trust.

McFLY Gig in the Woods

from: md @ 19 Jan 2009 0 comments
"PAUL Weller, McFly, massive crowds and a woodland clearing – not exactly your average gig set up.

But this unusual mix will be exactly what you can expect at Dalby Forest in June, when the Modfather Of Rock and pop favourites McFly perform on separate nights at the Forestry Commission’s 2009 series of open air concerts.

Every year since 2001, the commission has lined up an array of stars to play at its woodland sites across the UK – to raise awareness about its work and to generate valuable cash to fund its environmental projects.

Of the six venues taking part, the nearest to Huddersfield is Dalby Forest at Pickering.

Previous acts to take the stage there include The Levellers, Pulp and Jools Holland – a regular favourite on the woodland concert scene.

This year, McFly will open the musical festivities at Adderstone Field, a natural clearing in the forest, on June 26.

They performed a forest gig at Thetford last year and loved the experience.

Band member Danny Jones said: “We loved playing to a sold-out crowd at Thetford forest last summer, so we are delighted to include three more forest gigs in our plans for 09.”

It’s less than five years since a teenage McFly stormed the charts with debut single Five Colours In Her Hair, following up with seven number one singles, including Obviously, All About You and I’ll Be Ok.

Despite his tender years, frontman Tom Fletcher has penned more number one hits than U2, Queen and Robbie Williams.

In 2008, McFly brought out their latest album, Radio:ACTIVE and their latest single, Do Ya/Stay With Me came out as the official BBC Children In Need song.

Often described as the elder statesman of Britpop, Paul Weller has been wowing audiences since before McFly were born.

He has weathered the fickle changes of the music industry – from his time in The Jam to being part of Style Council and launching a hugely successful solo career.

Some have named him one of the greatest singer-songwriters in British popular music and last year showed he has lost none of his magic, when he released acclaimed number one album 22 Dreams – his ninth album solo album in a career spanning over three decades.

Weller made his forest concert debut at Dalby in 2004, performing to a capacity crowd.

His long-awaited return on June 27 looks set to attract many fans, so if you want to see him play in one of Yorkshire’s most atmospheric settings, get your tickets quick.

They cost £33 and went on sale last Friday from the Forestry Commission box office on 01842 814612 or online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music.

McFly tickets are available on the same number and website, at a price of £26.50.

The Saturdays fo Mc-boozing?

from: md @ 19 Jan 2009 0 comments
"THE SATURDAYS have livened up the charts, now they're striving to do likewise to London's clubs.
The girl group, VANESSA WHITE, UNA HEALEY, MOLLIE KING and ROCHELLE WISEMAN, were celebrating bandmate FRANKIE SANFORD'S birthday with a night on the sauce.

Flanked by HARRY JUDD, TOM FLETCHER and DOUGIE POYNTER of MCFLY, the latter is currently dating Frankie, they ended up at Bungalow 8. The girls were reportedly given the VIP treatment and were handed three bottles of bubbly on the house.

Though they weren't in shy forking out themselves, spending £500 on spirits and mixers.

Birthday girl Frankie, Rochelle and Una lasted the longest, leaving the club after 3am. "
